Friday night, Calgary AB… After a deafening stop at Public (or “pubic” according to M)… Poutine sounded like a great idea.
Great variety of topping and choice but what makes up 50% of a good poutine is the fries. Soft, thick cut “locally grown Yukon gold potatoes” without the nice crisp crunch defeats the purpose of deep fry and in short, is plain disappointing.
We ordered the large Philly Cheese Steak (slices of grey AAA roast beef, Philly cheese sauce, roasted peppers, sautéed mushrooms and onions)
Great for a greasy carb coating after a few drinks but nothing spectacular.
likelihood of revisiting: 0%
culinary mindset: soggy grease
