With a group of 10 in tow we headed down to Pajo’s for fish and chips. We happened upon the place a few months ago and had some deliciously fried cod nuggets. Too bad history decided NOT to repeat itself.
After 15-20 minutes in line and another 10-15 minutes by the pick-up window everyone was ready for some fish and chips.
A little on the dark side, but with a promising glimmer.
Cod Fish and Chips – $11.99 (?)
Halibut Nuggets (no chips) – $6.99 (?)
To sum it up in one word – “greasy”. By the end of it all, I thought my entire stomach had been coated with oil. With too little time to rest / drain, the batter was still chock full of oil when served. The cod was much more moist and flakey than the halibut, but the halibut had a better flavor. The chips were barely crisp and I think more than 50% was thrown away.
The tar tar sauce was ok, but seemed a little diluted with MORE oil. *yum* … No, not really ><
